Controversial BMW ad...

Wow, you would never see this BMW ad in the U.S.:yikes:
BMW's "Shameful" Greek Used Car Ad - Automotive Traveler |
Although some which IMO don't have a sense of humor find it offensive, personally i find it very clever and very funny!:bustingupThis ad has been criticized and discussed in various forums over and over.... But it is the reality as the majority of men see their car as their baby!:D

I'm as free-flow as you get as far as ads go, my opinion is "as long as I don't have to explain it to my kid, I'm fine" (you know like explaining to my son what Viagra is in the middle of a football game).
BUT......could we pick a chic that doesn't look 12? |
You have a point!

Seen it and know the story behind it. This ad was done, not by BMW, AG but a local BMW office hiring some local agency. They were slapped by BMW head quarters on this.
|
How old is this ad? I swear i saw it perhaps over a year ago. Anyhoo...my opinion is that most ad-agencies when retained to do work on a non-adolescent brand have only one goal in mind: controversy. It drives more traffic to the brand than any other element. Although the ad-buyer was slapped by BMW, in this case, coupled with humor...it seems to have achieved it's purpose.

kind of ads/public displays, etc. Less phony moralistic/"values" crap there on the Continent, imo. |
