10K

Maybe it's just me, but all I see is one door that needs to be replaced and one door that needs to have a dent pulled and repainted. Open the door and see what's going on with the b-pillar.

I give up on estimating....

ceo had a slight fender bender. I was estimating new front bumper and a replacement headlight. I thought $2500 - $3K on the high side.

Body shop is great. 1 in 8 in the country that have the bench for Lambo's.
At the end of the day, insurance paid them $7,500...

Depends on the shop I guess you use. Hopefully

I think Gresch with the over on 7,500 is right.

B pillar SEEMS ok but until they rack it.... Minor/extremely slight bubble on the bottom rail(?) when door is opened. (horizontal, painted metal)

What typically happens on totalling the car? if it hits 10k??

chefwong 08-18-2009 05:05 PM

tell me about it MD. qtr panel was even damaged. It was just a slight run in on the right side. Headlight wasn't really damaged but the cover was scuffed enought to need replacing.

Got me pondering.....what's worse. Letting my bodyshop *take care of it as long as I pay my dedu* and that's it . Or doe it hurt me *aka-the consumer* in the long run due to higher repair costs. They do get paid a higher labor fee than regular insc. fees..

Shop is immaculate. 3 imported paint booths form Italy, floors are heated to reduce dust/contamination, they use vacuum sanders. Beautiful Shop. Not your typical bodyshop joint.

generally if it exceeds a percentage of the cars actual cash value... Though if you weren't at fault, IIRC, you can get it fixed under "sentimental value" but only if you're pretty good at playing lawyer.

This repair came close to 20K. Doors (both - no inside peices damanged, just exterior,) no B pilar damage, some minor frame work on the bottom, right front full fender, 2 wheels/tires, all suspension/brake equipment on the right side

This accident happened 1 month after getting the car!! A red light means stop!! (sorry, just wanted to let the livery drivers know that.)
