Not taking it too seriously. However, based on some of the frequent posts made on the Political Forum, this is sadly the way some of the members do view the world.......

A little humility wouldn't hurt...

Yep, you just took it too seriously. It's supposed to be taken lightly --- it's posted in The Lounge --- not the Politics forum. I think that it's quite funny :D It's like the picture that shows how New Yorkers view the rest of the world.

And, unfortunately, I don't think "humility" is the right word. Humility, for me, is too closely associated with (and often leads to) "humiliation".

I thought that US view of the world map, was hilarious. :rofl:

"They do our laundry and lawn" & "zoo animals come from here" is suppose to be funny, in perticularly to our international members? This is quite a stretch from what The New Yorker's post is depicting, don't ya think?:rolleyes:

Yes, but it is by Americans, for Americans. Everybody should be able to laugh at themselves. Apart from the labels, I think the scale is funny. Look how big the US landmass is drawn in comparison to all the areas that are larger than the US.

You're obviously getting stressed out about this. I am from "zoo animals come from here". That comment does not bug me at all...

Yes, it's an egocentric view, but it's a freakin cartoon.

It is almost self-parody and self-deprecating. I'm a
US person, Ive been to half of the world, loved every min
in every country and culture I got to visit and spend time
in, and I still think the cartoon is funny.

That's what cartoons are for: to make us think and laugh.
