Why don't I like driving anymore?

Anyone ever gone through a phase of "I don't want to drive as much anymore"? Ever since last year, I've gotten a bit leery of driving in general. Sure, I can easily do 2-3 hours nonstop but I've come to avoiding trips just because of this, and it's rarely enjoyable. I won't even drive 1 hour to visit some of my friends in Baltimore anymore because I just don't want to drive.. Don't get me wrong, I like the X3 and 325i very much, but the task of spending time, burning fuel operating a vehicle has become a huge deterrent.

It's not like I find much joy in driving anymore either, 95% of the time it feels like a chore. Really irritates the part of me that likes to experience/see new places. And ski. :banghead:

Sounds like you got a few tickets?

Just use the cruise control at limit plus 8 or 9 and you will have no worries.

Why don't you try driviing on the Cross-Bronx Expressway for a week, then do another week on the BQE, and follow that up with some Lincoln Tunnel runs. I can assure you after a month of doing that, you will absolutely adore driving anywhere outside the NY tri-state area. You'll feel the weight of the world lifted off your shoulders.

Or just try not driving for a year...then you will not be able to wait until you can drive again!

The BQE is off-limits to our BMWs (no, I'm not kidding. I won't route through that way) and it's not really the potholes that annoy me. Or the revenue enforcement; I just admitted it's a road tax and a part of life (Including a $472 one last month).

Everytime I want to go somewhere, I'd rather just "be" there, instead of dealing with "the journey" there. Maybe I just need a change of scenery instead of constant "mountains and trees".

Sounds like you're depressed, get some Zoloft.
