Just received a text about it...he hasn't been well for some time now, so sad to hear. Incredible talent and an inspiration. If only that accident could've been avoided.

Some of my favorites...

Break out the turntable.......

This makes me very sad. He was truly a great talent, and to all accounts, a good person. As my wife said as we played the songs linked above, "Such a beautiful voice. None of the music out today can compare."

Come on; You can't be serious.
Snoop dog got his game on, right?......:rofl::rofl:

I know you are joking, but indirectly, you are making my point. I know there has always been "business" in "show business", but why do I feel like guys like Pendergrass actually cared about the music, when folks (such as Snoop) are more about $$? Is it my age catching up with me, or discernment?

Irony is the majority of today's popular/rythm & blues/hip hop music and artists, consistently sample the blueprint of artist' like Pendergrass. Often times failing to even give credit to the trailblazers...and earning far more revenue from the samples than the originals. Very little originality in showbiz these days as it's become a matter of who can sell more in less amount of time...

I remember when he was paralyzed on Lincoln Drive in Philadelphia. That was a long time ago. He is lucky to have lived as long as he did under the circumstance...

He was a great tallent. RIP.

Well, Snoop did give a shot out to TP on his debut album:

"You without me, baby, is like Harold Melvin without the Blue Notes... You'll never go platinum!"
