X5 offroad capabilities!
8 Attachment(s)
Usually I wouldn't want to bring my baby to the mud, but in the last month I've made a couple trips to a friends hunting camp, one with the OEM 20's and one with OEM 18s (as my "winter" wheels in south LA.) The X5 was only limited by ground clearance, but me being the more experienced driver of the 4 of us I was able to go through as much/more than the 4x4 chevy trucks without getting stuck :nanana:
Now I just need to get my 3 wheeler together before the next trip up there so my baby can stay clean and I'll just take the wheeler to the camp as that road is pretty damn rough! But if I have to drive it again I will make someone stand on the road with a camcorder to catch us all coming through for some nice entertaining video. |
Good lord; I can't imagine all that mud on my X :wow:.....:rofl:

I love it!

Haha looks like fun!

Sadly
Those pics are impressive. I've had to go through some pretty nasty stuff to get my 4.6 some "farm cred" when I make work trips. Unfortunately, due to emergency weather conditions, I had to put some "cute" low profile winter 18's, off a 6 series, on my X. It is sad......

Yeah, The guys at the hunting club at the end of the road kept saying "Who's the brave soul with the BMW, we don't even drive that road in the camp trucks"... but they have a paved road option with a floating pontoon dock that gets pulled back and forth across the bayou for the 4 wheelers etc.
In the future the michelin energys on the 18's will get swapped out for aggressive all terrains or basic mudders, but for now I'm gonna park at the front of the road and use the 3 wheeler to get my stuff back there. And jaybo12, the 20" wheels would have done ok offroad, better than the 18" low profiles from the 6 series. I went through the sams stuff with the 20" wheels 2 weeks ago, when it was 20 degrees down here! (the low area of the land that holds water had 1/2" of ice on it!) The main problem I had with the 20's was that they would hold mud in them throwing it off balance really bad, so I had to scrape that mud out of the rims before getting on the highway since the camp doesn't have water yet and the car washes were frozen/closed. |
Looks like fun...tires make a world of difference.
