I'll tell you what if it is the end then we are some lucky sob's cause that's gonna be one helluva show. Everyone thinks that something important is going to happen in their lifetime as if their life wasn't a mere instance in the long lapse of time. So silly. Meanwhile lets party!

If you live long enough you do get to see some important things
in your life time. What you learn from it and how you apply what
you learn is very important.

But what's even more interesting is how few people exhibit so
little interest in the knowledge that those who have live many
years have acquired.

No...

Misinterpretation of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar is the basis for a New Age belief that a cataclysm will take place on December 21, 2012. December 21, 2012 is simply the first day of the 14th b'ak'tun.

Sandra Noble, executive director of the Mesoamerican research organization FAMSI, notes that "for the ancient Maya, it was a huge celebration to make it to the end of a whole cycle". She considers the portrayal of December 2012 as a doomsday or cosmic-shift event to be "a complete fabrication and a chance for a lot of people to cash in."[12] The 2009 science fiction apocalyptic disaster film 2012 is based on this belief.

^^^Thank you for ending this mess. On a side note I climbed some sacred Mayan ruins last time I was in mexico haha Was pretty awesome, my guess is the mayan gods hadn't intended tourists to climb their pyramids. But where there is a dollar to be made....
