Every religious "group" of every kind, on the planet, has "their God" on "their side", imo.

I still believe in Peter Pan and the Easter Bunny (atheist sarcasm), but I don't let them guide my moral compass. Common sense and being honest controls that, at least for me. These people are just idiots...reminds me of those stickers "If you can stand for us, feel free to stand in front of us." I'd drive by w/ a paint ball gun if I had the chance. A little "thwack thwack thwack" on the back of the head will give them a SLIGHT taste of what it feels like to be under fire and hopefully it'll send them home crying...hopefully w/ a little more appreciation as well.

We're also forgetting about the judge here...his ass needs a little reminder of why he has his freedoms as well.

It all comes down to respect, and the lack of it that exists in the world today.

In this scenario why weren't the police called immediately? I'm sure they could have been arrested for some sort of disturbance of the peace or unlawful assembly or something? I know the bond that exists amongst service members and police/firefighters is strong so surely any reasonable cop would have been able to think of something to break up the protest. It's just so ironic these same people claim to preach about love and yet hate their brothers.

They know that protesting a military funeral is a sure way to hit people where it counts. They are the scum of scum and playing at the lowest common denominator.

Makes me sick to my stomach, that's just plain wrong. Blahhh.

I'm in the middle of reading God is Not Great by Christopher Hitchens right now and I must say this sort of thing exemplifies his arguments.

I've been an athiest ever since my dad died, but I never really believed in religion anyways. It always seemed like a tax shelter to me, something screw ups used to justify their mistakes, etc. People chose their religious beliefs and what they'll actually follow like it's a menu at the Chinese Buffet...I'll take a little of this, I don't like that, and I'm very strong for this unless it applies to me or affects me. These idiots that are protesting probably don't even know what the hell their protesting for, and I bet after they head back to their homes, they still break Christian rules or whatever they blindly follow that helps them make the ignorant decisions that they've made by protesting in the first place.

UPDATE: Dad of a fallen Marine perseveres against protests at military funerals - Yahoo! News On a side note, I didn't know that the dad had sued the church before hand and won a 5 million dollar settlement, just to have it reversed...hence where the fine they're asking him to pay comes from. It changes things a little since NO ONE needs 5 million in emotional distress in the first place, but still.

Shame on these stupid ass protestors AND the Judge who said the dad should have to pay a dime in court costs or anything else for that matter. If the church wants to protest, that's their decision, their time, their money, and not to mention their ignorance. They had to know at some point their poor decision to target gays in the military that at some point it would backfire on them.
