Phone Suggestions

Gonna be changing phones soon. I am only looking at non-flip phones. I just can't stand having to open it to get anything done. Right now this is at the top of my list:

Nokia 6230

Nokia 6230 is a good, solid phone but have a look at the Sony Ericsson K750i. It has everything incl. a 2MP camera.

can't go wrong with either.

my next phone won't be a flip either. its too much of a pain in da butt. more likely to break.

Really? I have had several flip phones, and never had a problem with breakage.

Me too...never liked flip phones since you need two hands sometimes three to open. PITA!

The big questions is do you need it to work with BMW bluetooth ?

lol statdoc--

if i had a $1 for every time i accidentally have dropped the phone....

single unit (non clamshell) are less prone to breakage.

Unfortunately no. I am not the one in the family who drives the X5.

The Sony looks pretty nice. I'll look into it. Thanks for the input guys, I know there aren't too many non-flip options. I'v never owned a flip-phone and never will.

Vin... my wife had that Nokia you are considering. Nice phone. She liked it a lot, but due to a "boating incident" ( :o ) she had to get a new one. That phone struck me as a quality phone, and I liked the form factor.

You know, I've gone back and forth on this. The flip phone form factor CAN be a pain: it's bulky (with he RAZR about the only exception) and difficult to carry comfortably. The candy bar, on the other hand turns itself on every time you sit down or touch something and a key is pressed. Yes, you can do the keyboard lock thing, but I hate having to enter a code before I can answer my phone... my current phone is a Moto V551 -- which is a very nice (flip) phone, but, I'm thinking about upgrading. That SE that Phong is recommeding looks great.

Juan, with Nokias when you have the keyboard lock on, its just pushing the upper left button, then the * key to get in, very easy. When calls come, the lock is automatically turned off. I hope this concern doesn't deterr you from these kinds of phones.

As far as your wife's phone goes, was it relatively compact? btw, that Moto v551 is a seriously well built phone.

I'm looking at some siemens slider phones. They're pretty slick. Does anyone know, with sliders, of you can answer a call or use the menus without sliding it? It'd be very cool if I'd have to slide only to dial numbers.
