I don't know if I would actually ever spend my money on one, but I think it looks bad ass and the new 5.0 engine is no joke. 412 HP and 390 lb ft.

I just built this one at Ford.com.

neighbor just bought one. Drove it and was pretty impressed. It's much approved even over the SVT's but like he said, bump steer is pretty bad and chassis control is still not up to par. It's got nice power though.

They didn't say in the video if the Mustang had the track-pack option. That would give it an edge. At a car show this weekend they are supposed to have a 2012 Mustang Boss 302. I wonder what the changes to that model will be?

Yeah, I wish they would refine it a bit and I don't really understand what is up with the whole live axle thing in this day and age. Also, brake dive was horrible as evidenced in the above video.

I don't know much of anything about the Boss 302 except it looks pretty cool.

If it had a magic carpet underneath or the suspension design of a Roman chariot and was that quick and fun, then I personally do not care what 'kind' of axel it has. If it goes around a track as fast as an M3, it works!

Agreed. I guess I would just like to know why they stick with it. Wouldn't a more modern setup make it even better overall?

It is incredible what ford is able to do with a car that has the axle design of a roman chariot.:D

Imagine what the car would be like with a more capable rear setup!

Yeah, that's what I mean. At the end of the day it is a great accomplishment for Ford that the regular GT can keep pace with an M3 in a track setting, but how could upgrading the rear axle to a more modern setup be a bad thing as far as performance is concerned? I can't even think of another current sports car with a live axle. At some point, this design has to limit what the car is capable of in a track setting. It seems like the only pro's for a live axle are that it is cheaper, more durable and better for dragracing. I read that Ford said an IRS would add $500 cost per car, which doesn't seem like much.

Meh, as soon as you get out on the track you change tires and suspension and everything else so the cars are pretty equal anyways. The thing that matters is the person behind the wheel.

What I give BMW kudos for, is making a car that is as fast and capable as it is, but also loaded with technology and finished far better, with nicer materials and build quality.

The Ford is great and fast and all but other than that it has nothing to offer compared to the BMW.
