Obama SMOKES BIN LADEN !!

There is something deliciously ironic that after George W's 7-year "War on Terror" and non-stop Republican chest-thumping on how tough they are on terrorism, and how soft and ineffective Obama is...

that it is precisely Obama who has taken the fight to the ones that f&%$ed with us and finally nailed Bin Laden. Kudos to him for putting together an excellent security cabinet and increasing special operations in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

For all of W's cowboy swagger and large-scale bombing, he had 7 friggin' years and the best military force in the world to get Bin Laden. And instead of keeping his eye on the ball and allocating resources correctly, he veered completely off-course and invaded Iraq, letting Bin Laden gloat and laugh.

So what say you Obama-haters? Still fixated on that long-form birth certificate? Or is it those spooky insurance "death panels" that have you enraged?

I fail to see the connection between this news and any political agenda. You doubt Bush made it a priority to capture and/or kill Bin Laden? For years, all we heard was the left beg for our withdrawal - now will those same people praise Obama for this great military victory? Seems more than a bit hypocritical.

Politics aside, it is a great achievement that further underlines not only the strength, but also the precision of our military. I can't help but think that this might only embolden and motivate his followers and disciples to plan and carry out further attacks. The fight ain't over yet!

You can hardly say that Obama is not the reason for this....that would be a very bold statement as well. As some have said it happened on his watch and he did say he was going to get him. Like it or not every commander in Chief gets the credit for a successful mission even when he gives the order weather he was on hand for the actual mission or not.

Sorry Stan but this ain't about Obama in the least and I couldn't disagree with you more. All the credit goes to the intelligence personnel, especially those working in hostile areas, and the brave troops who went knocking on Osama's front door.

but wouldnt it be pretty obvious for him to authorize this? what pres wouldnt? Do you think obama found his location by himself?

either way, its a great day for america, and i'm glad to see everybody "proud to be american" again.

It is great news but killing is not something to celebrate. Yes it is justice but it will not bring back all the dead people killed for no reason.

Bin Laden purposely kill over 3,000 Americans civilians, in addtion civilian though out the world have been killed as a result of the war. We have also lost military personnel serving the country and fighting for freedom.

Please let this act mark the end of all mankind killing each other.

This is true. The guy at the top gets the glory but I think Stan's point was off the mark. Obama gets the credit as he is the Commander in Chief at the time the deed was done and indeed, he gave the okay to do it so with that, he gets the spotlight but to say that Bush dropped the ball is plain wrong. If one wants to talk about dropping the ball we need look no further than Billy Clinton.

Further, Obama can take credit for authorizing the operation but again, full credit goes to the operators who took Osama out. It's the same way I can take credit for my wife slaving for hours to make an elaborate dinner for 10 guests because I invited them. ;)
