Ok, you asked for it! We have quite a few animals in our home, and every one is a rescue, adoption... we didn't but ANY of these...
First our umbrella cockatoo, Skylar. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...6/IMGP2650.jpg Then our lesser sulfur crested cockatoo, Indy. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...6/IMGP2636.jpg Then our double yellow crown amazon, Cookie. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...animals027.jpg Then our blue front amazon, Liza. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...animals024.jpg Then our lovebird, Fletcher. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...animals076.jpg Then our 2 ducks as young ones, just called "the girls" http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...6/IMGP2338.jpg Then the girls as big girls. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...6/IMG_1340.jpg Then our 8 year old African spur thigh tortoise Meatball, about 75 lbs. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...6/IMG_1369.jpg The girls with meatball... http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...6/IMG_1368.jpg And we usually have some more come through that get released when all growed up :D http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...6/IMG_1334.jpg And while we don't currently have any cats or dogs, we have had numerous in the past. I really miss our old doberman Cain though... he was the sweetest dog and extremely obedient! We lost him to cancer though :( |

Yeah, my mother is the office manager of 16 years of the only vet clinic down here that does birds and exotics... pretty much everything BUT cats and dogs. And we have a rehabilitation license, so every year we have numerous various animals come through that we rehabilitate and either release into the right environment or sanctuary. I think out next pet might be bought, unless one falls into our lap (which happens often apparently) will be either a pygmy goat or Nigerian dwarf goat.
The other previous pets that I really miss were the Asian water monitor and the 12 foot Burmese python. Yet again, both rescues. The python went to the Audubon zoo, the monitor went to the Global wildlife center. In the pond by the visitors station so the field tripping kids could play with it as it was extremely mild mannered and handle-able. (I used to walk it on a leash, or with it on my back with it's head over my shoulder as just the head/body was 2.5 feet with a longer tail.) |
It's not MSAH is it weasel? They do dogs+cats+everything I think though.
Niiiccceee facility. |
No, it's WEVC (West Esplanade vet clinic) in Metairie near New Orleans. But we know people at MSAH and my ex worked there for years. And yes, that is a very nice facility.
