I have read nearly every freakin link of 'reviews', 'top 10s', 'editors choices', etc.

And when I narrowed it down to 3 or 4 brands/models, I would GOOG the cat number and read the reviews of that model, some of which is similar to "I love my X" to "this car sucks, I'm trading it for a ____"

Not wringing hands about the process; I will pull the trigger on something soon. Probably 70", non 3D, etc.

Gotta measure to see if the sumbitch will fit in the CEO's Hyundai Tucson to get it home.

im just waiting for one of my tvs to break down and throw in the white towel before I can start lookin again, at least thats my wife's condition, lol... maybe I can ask my youngest to throw the remote into the screen, the only thing i can think of right now, lol...

70" is what i would be looking for too...

I would love to get a 70", but I am limited as to what will fit above my fireplace. Right now, the 50" is about the biggest I can get. However, that is an increase from the 42" I had years ago due to the frames getting smaller and smaller.

When you are trying to fit the TV in your car, you may want to double check if you can lay it flat or not. I know that wasn't recommended when I purchased my last plasma. Not sure if that applies anymore or to LCD/LED technology in general.

Anyway, I am a little jelly. I love purchasing new electronics.

It is same priced at several other joints, even locally here in crime land, SW FL...

It is a variation of the whole 70" series from Sharp; that one has 3D, the slightly overrated Quattron situ, and 240 'motion'. I appreciate the point out...I will probably settle for the 640, 2D, and most of the bells & whistles.

I recently purchased 55" LED TV, did tons of research.
As far as CNET concerned, I feel they are seriously bias towards Pioneer Plasma TVs.
When it comes to Costco you cannot go too bad, less selections maybe...

I personally stayed from Sharp, and Sony LCD/LED panels.
1. I wasn't impressed picture qualities I saw at Bestbuy, 2. They are shutting down factories in Japan after they failed to sell them to Taiwanese. Go figure.

My pal who's a Video Processing Researcher at "D" Lab who also worked for LG told me
as far as LCD concerns LG makes the best panels, but Samsung is better at Signal processing. You should know most of Apple "Rat"na display are made by them...
3D TV is always brighter then non 3D...
You won't know the difference between 120Hz and 240, really... LCD won't even refresh that fast...

65" I would get this

I'd seriously look at the one Jon linked to, as well. Especially if you need more HDMI inputs. It's about the same price as the Sammy and has more Hormonal Dilemma Modular Interfaces :p:, plus 3D and 6 pairs of apposite :bustingup glasses, even though that's not one of your requirements.

1. 3D Viewing
Samsung uses Active 3D, expansive 3D glasses with shutters built in.
LG employees Passive 3D, cheap dumb 3D similar as 3D movie theater.

I found, and lots of reviews did, Passive system more comforting and less evasive... I don't assume you play 3D video games, but if you tilt your head during 3D viewing forget Sammy.

2. 120 Hz vs 240 Hz & Smart TV functions
If you don't mind paying 20-40% Premium that you will never notice the difference, but feel good about having latest technology then go for it, but I didn't :)

3. Number of HDMI connectors.
I feed all my HDMI inputs through HDMI stereo receiver, because it is whole lot easier with my programmable remote control, and I don't like hearing sound through tiny 10W TV speakers, also it is whole lot tidier.
I never use more than 2 on TV.

4. Future proof?
High end OLED panels are coming out, and its is likely that higher resolution monitors will come out, but most most of TV signals are 1080i, so you are good. IMHO

I waisted too much time on this I hope you don't.
Just my 2 cents.

A lot of good advice here, one of the things that hasn't been mentioned is to ensure that one of the HDMI ports is ARC. Especially if you're going to use an AV tuner/switch.
