View First Unread

I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but when I click on "View First Unread" on a thread that has more than one page, it takes me to post #1. I have to go the 2nd page and then click "View First Unread" to get to the actual first unread post. I have it set to view 40 posts per page.

i think that if u've never opened the thread to begin w/
it will start at #1. also, i think it may remember the time
in which u visited the thread. so, if u last visited at 7PM
and there were only 5 posts, but the next time u go back
there are 5 pages, it will take u to post #6. if u want to
go to the very end of the thread, click on the arrow right
before the words "Last post by"

when i view threads, it's from the homepage
mostly. i don't generally use the Forums
page. how are u accessing the threads?

Yeah, I know how that works. This is different....

I've got the same problem. Click on "view 1st..." and get first post. Not very helpful...

i tried it on several threads in different forums. it works fine for me.

it only works on threads that you have visited already, that have new posts after you have visited them. if not, it will display the first post...

i'm using IE 6.0.2900

You are both clear about that. But this is happening on threads that I have visited previously.

I have had this problem for a while now. I finally got around to searching for a previous post on it.

The 'View First Unread' button used to work fine, and it would take me to the first unread post on whatever page that post was on.

Now it always goes to post one. Useless.

Any ideas from the admins?

edit: (I am also using IE 6.0.2900, SP2)
