New Forum Suggestion

What are chances of creating a new Forum entitled "E-85 Ethanol / FFV Conversions", (or something similar), under the 'BMW Related group heading and then moving the existing "Ethanol Mixture" threads on pg. 4 of the X-5 E53 forum to it ?

Perhaps as already stated "no BMW made is built for E85 fuels".

Better topic would be Hydrogen in BMW since you know...

They build that.

Oh, I forget to say that;

'We'll see about FFV (E-85) Conversions of BMW gasoline vehicles', whether or not . . . . . .

For all of you who may be interested in a real open discussion on E-85 FFV Conversions try the real world "How To. ." site [ http://e85vehicles.com/converting-e85.htm ] OR, for a discussion forum, try the "Planet E85" site [ http://e85vehicles.com/e85/ ] OR, for a group in Germany that is converting everything in Europe on wheels to E-85 Gas FFVs or E-95 Diesel FFVs try [ http://www.e85.biz/e/index.php3 ].

Why does it seem that 'most' everyone here seems hesitant to discuss the possibility of converting a BMW vehicle to burn E-85 ?

Even IF a BMW rep is monitoring our postings, BMW is not likely to put you on a 'warranty hit list' just because you've ventured beyond the company's 'party line'.

Respectfully submitted;

I would start with posting some threads on the topic and go from there. Like we have done with Navigation systems and Bluetooth, if there are enough threads and activity to support a particular topic then we'll consider adding a forum for it.

That is a GOOD idea !

BTW, does the U of M in your Bio indicate the University of Michigan ?

Hasn't the Governor of Michigan tasked the U of M to study and report on aftermarket FFV Conversion kits, (that are already installed in vehciles all over Michigan), and so that the EPA approval of such kits can be accelerated ?
