Sirius upgrade PROBLEMS!!!!
I installed the Sirius unit into my 03 4.6is (nav, dsp,cd changer) last night I am going through the mode function and it is not coming up but my cd changer (which is daisy chained through the sat radio reciever) works normally
any information on what might be causing this problem? |
do a search under my user name and sirius.
u'll find about 20 some pages of info. did u update ur radio module? |
No as I was not told I needed to...found 9 pages and you never got it to work. can someone tell me what i need to buy to make it work as I want to have it up and running for my road trip to the USACi Nationals this weekend
Veichle build is 5/03 |
i gave up on my install. my build is an '05/'03 also.
i believe my issue was the fact that i had an older Sirius receiver that was built strictly for NON-NAV X5's. i've yet to purchase the new Sirius receiver though. some have said that a newer Radio Module is not needed; however, I don't know about that. i would suggest getting in touch w/ Morristown BMW and price a new radio module. after ur setup is installed, does ur system cycle to TAPE twice? |
No it just isn't there. but full control and sound on the CD changer is there it just doesn't want to rekognize the sat reciever
|
my guess is, u need a new radio module.
ur radio module probably does not have the Sirius software. Morristown was the cheapest i've seen. good luck! |
Turn radio OFF, with right button then turn on and immediately press and hold the select button. Then hold for 18 seconds. Once serial number is shown use the > button to scroll to AREA and set are to US using the 1 button

It could be due to your NAV OS (since you have a 2003), you should be at v23 or higher in order to run Sirius.
Refer to this article to determine your NAV OS version: http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all-...ystem-faq.html |

I had to buy a new radio unit for my 03 4.6is to get Sirius to work because it was an early build date.
