Hello, I am working on installing a sub in my X5 also. Did you find out if you are able to get a signal from the right side of your trunk compartment? Are you going to pick up the signal before it goes into your stock amp or after? Do you have a non-dsp 10 speaker system? I have had a hard time finding out information about this upgrade. Hi Comanche. I havent done anything yet as my sub was on back order. It is suppose to be delivered this Friday. I will work on the installation this weekend if i dont have to leave town. I'll let you know how it goes.

I have put together quite alot of information that I collected from several forums and email sites in a PowerPoint on Non-DSP Stereo Subwoofer and Amplifier upgrades. I would be happy to email it to you thought it would be useful. The information has wiring diagrams and pin information as well as how different people have accomplished the upgrade. One thing I have noticed is that the speaker wire colors in the harness are not the same across the board. However, people in the articles say to use the pin number and the information will work.
