Help needed - Non BSW speaker & Amp Upgrade

I am planing to retrofit folding mirror, and just thought I might as well upgrade the speakers as well.
BMW X5 is E53 2005 16:9 Monitor with MKIV navigation & without DSP & Amp.

I noticed that the front doors by rear view wing mirrors have perforated Tweeter like enclosures but no sound comming from them. Is it safe to assume that only the High spec Audio/comms package have additional speakers/tweeters in this location. I currently have 2 dash board, 2 Front door and 2 rear door speakers.
The BSW kits are way higher than i want to spent so enough said on that.
1) Any one fitted other brands of speakers in the door pods? e.g pioneer/Kenwood/sony/ alpine... If so what sizes/models? and do they need mounting adapters?.
2) I have asked this question a few time without an answer, since my car has no Amp, How do i connect an Amp ?. Any literature on this would be highly appreciated
Thanks very much

dashboard speakers are 2", you cant find aftermarket, only BSW.
I sugest JBL GTO607c, its 2ohm speakers

Some answers at last, Thanks Ike. Not badly priced at £50. Could they be driven with an Amp or the Non Amp head unit is adequate?

As I know, UK version X5 has no Amp. I never see X5 without Amp and I am not familiar to this system.
As I see on WDS, front mid-range and front speakers are feeded from same radio pins, so maybe there is some crossover.
If no-one can confirm this, I suggest to install in front doors JBL GTO607C component system.
Speaker size are : front and rear doors 6.5". Almost no modification needed.
Dash speaker size is 2", maybe 3" can fited.

Another Question,

From a bit of reading here and there. To add an Amp I take it that I need to Bine a Line output converter and then connect it to some wires comming out of the head unit.

I am assumimng that there would be some pairs of wires going to all 4 speakers/doors ?. Is there link to wirring diagrams that shows me which wire to tap?

Just another question Would usa electric window switch(with folding mirror) work/fit the UK version?

cheers

Ika, you sai JBL GTO607c which are 6.5" right?, but BSW Rainbow Audio Dream Line speakers are 5.25".

Sureley that wont fit ?. urgent reply as already ordered on ebay from a big seller with various versions hence get him to swap sizes if need be.

Addditionally , My rear doors dont have tweeters. Would i be better of swapping for the 2 way version with the tweeter mounted on midbass rather than separate. cheers

stock speakers are 6.5". I have installed JBL 6.5" in my previus X5.
BSW speakers has some adapter to fit 5.25", as I know.
As I know you dont have mid-range in rear doors.
I did not understand your last question, meybe for my bad English.
