Ipod/Iphone charging
 

I have the std factory fitted Ipod cable installed - was in the car when I purchased it, all works as it is supposed to but it doesnt charge - should it or do I need to get the aux input cable? I also got the BMW Iphone4 cradle & again works ok but that doesnt charge either.
Any tips on this? tried finding an answer in previous threads but got lost.

The original BMW iPod adapter will not charge new iPods or iPhones. Apple discontinued use of the 12v Firewire charging pin on the devices in preference of the 5v USB charging. BMW should have a replacement cable for about $65US. I will probably just make my own.
