Navigation Eu Map 2006-1

Hi

I am considering upgrading my Map DVD (EU 2005-1) to EU 2006-1 but do not want to unless it has my home street in it.

We have recently moved to a new build home and our home address is not on the 2005-1 map.
Could any one with the 2006-1 DVD (Road Map Europe) please do a quick check for the following street and let me know if it is on the map.

Wyness Place
Kintore
Aberdeenshire
UK

Thanks

I have exactly the same thoughts - 3 years ago there were some major road alterations by us and even though I bought the 2005-2 map DVD, they were never reflected. I contacted Navteq and had a very terse reply saying their mapping data was totally up to date but whether the info was on the current disk depended on whether BMW had purchased the rights to the latest data!!!

So, I would want to 'borrow' a copy to check that these changes are on the disk - it also has my house in TWO locations about 3 miles apart, and depending on which direction I travel home to, depends which one is selected (always the closest to the route I am driving)!

For £200 its a bloody rip off really if BMW don't use the very latest data. Seems a bit of a money-making scheme just to get people to fork out for a new disk. Does anyone know what the changes were between 2005-1 and 2005-2?

I'd suggest to wait another month or so as DVD 2006-2 is about to get released in April.

The other suggestion for those in a new neighborhood is to go to http://update.navteq.com/ and submit a request to have your street added. I did this when I moved to a new sub division several years ago and Navteq was very responsive. They even followed up and let me know via email when the streets were added to their database and sure enough, they were in the next map disk release.

I wouldn't blame BMW necessarily. I believe that Navteq simply shifted the blame to BMW rather then taking the heat for it themselves...

Thanks very much

I believe Europe needs DVD 2006-1 and the North America needs 2006-2.

Anyhow, the 2006 MAP DVD disk should be out by now. Navteq website states it is out.

Did I imagine it or did I read that the Europe 2006-1 DVD now has Postcodes available to search on?

Has anyone got the 2006-1 that can try? If you need a Postcode try
BS2 9PA

Cheers.

Yes, it does now have postcodes to search on - it is just the first 5 digits though e.g. BS2 9, or WF27 5
