What do you mean by LCI?

Marojity of nav hardware is the CCC, which is the device where the map CD is loaded into. Could be this changed over time.

I mean Facelift, they got leds, updated nav, and some other estetic, i belive this was in 2007.
About the new DVD, the file stucture looks a lot like it did on my Benz that had Becker/Harman System.
I dont think the Nav unit CCC changed, maybe just something abut it maybe software for it?, the dealer could not give me answer for that, but he was prity sure that old model could not be updated to show map.

If I understood right the old map DVD for Pre LCI E60 will also work in LCI navi unit and will show 2D map. Is it correct?

I am not sure if it wil work that way, infact i doubt it, however the new maps that work in LCI navi wil work in pre LCI nav
