Goto the car open the drivers door, Goto the nav computer and press eject on drive, Eject the map disc, Switch ign to pos 1, leave door open. Insert firmware disc into drive, follow instruction on nav screen. Wait (approx 6 mins) till sat nav asks to eject cd and reboot. Eject cd, Confirm reboot. Thats it. Do not swich off ignition or close the door when doing the upgrade. |
thank you!!

well one more question: this thread is already long, so i got a little bit confused, which file should be burned on the disk? the 97,5mb file from post nr. 1?? |
Download the zip file, unzip to a dir.
Get a copy of imgburn (it's free) http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download Open the largest file (i think) then write at the slowest possible speed of the good quality CD, then verify the disc. |
Hi guys i m new here and i need help:
i have been following up the threads about the software upgrades and decided to try it... i have BMW e46 320d 2003 i had the following display on my nav screen - 4 1/20 which i'm assuming i have MKIV version 22.1 i had downloaded v31 burned with alcohol120 at slowest speed 8x, turned ignition key in position 1,poped the cd in,screen showed message-warning not to turn ignition key off for 6 minutes (until CD comes out) then screen flickered for a few seconds and then went blank, I sat there waited for 10 minutes, nothing... now the screen is blank, radio and CD changer works! Can i reset navi to companys settings(previous FW)? Can i get some help, please.... |

Before you use the OS disc, you must test and verify (surface scan, C1 / C2 error count) that the disc is OK Make and verify another disc, the use it ONLY when you have confirmed it is good. |
