I believe that you installed it correctly......but just as a check....did you "unsolder" the two solder balls that are on the laser head ribbin cable that short it out to prevent being killed by static electricty after you did the install?

After you have change the loading unit with laser does it read a double layer DVD? I bought a loading unit to from http://www.navigatie-onderdelen.nl/W...-loopwerk.html And it dont work with double layer DVDīs. I toke a loading unit from my friends MK4 wich is working with double layer DVDīs andput into my MK4 and it reads the DVD. So it must be very big difference in this laserīs. Is it possible to adjust the laser for better reading? |

Yes, it should read DL DVD's with 4-1/100..... Make sure you burned the DVD right, maybe try to make another copy. I re-assemble broken loading units from MK4's (DVD M3 4.6), with new lasers. Sometimes there's a weak laser that doesn't read DVD's or DL DVD's......! |
BertusE46, many thanks for the helpful instructions, my drive was working with my OEM 2004.2 map DVD, however I could no longer eject it after loading my new splash screen and V31 OS. Works great now, need to find a new North American map DVD...
