HELP!!
First off I have a 2005 mk4 as follows: SW 4-1/50. Everything was working fine when I began the update. I followed the instructions and burned off the first copy of the v32 software using ImgBurn. However, I burned it at 10x, but it seemed to burn just fine. Also the image copy I downloaded was Mode1. I followed the instructions and got the update screen. However, it then said disc defective or whatever and said to hit ok. I did so and ever since then the display is permanently black now!!!! Oddly the ipod/FM and CD player all work. I tried loading it again and same update screen and error.
Thinking it was the Mode1 problem/10x burning problem, I downloaded the last link of the Mode 2 v32 image in this post and forced ImgBurn to burn at 2x. I loaded it in the player but this time no updating screen appeared. However, the orange light solidly turned on for some time then turned out. After about 10 minutes nothing else happened. The drive stopped making noise. Also the power led on the dvd unit doesn't come on no matter if I put a disc in or not. PLEASE help ASAP! I live in SD if anyone has a proper disc as evidently I don't know how to burn it correctly. I am willing to buy the 10 buck disc from the dealer but they said they only had one for the mk 3 and it was 36 bucks? I just wanted the newer perspective view mode! Please help. Thanks in advance! |

The mk4 will accept a mode1 or a mode2 formatted disc. Quote:

With luck you will resurrect your drive. Here is a vanilla version of the v32 OS, with no mods and in mode2/form1 (it may help). MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service |
Understood. How do I determine what the lowest write speed is? The prog just says supported write speed: 10x
|
Thanks for your help. I will try the 10x burn with the OEM files. I'm sure it will work...
|
Tried it that way no luck. I'll just get the OEM disc and try that...

What blanks are you using? Are you sure x10 speed is slowest burn speed for that disc?

However, if thats the lowest supported speed then that should have been fine, but 10x does seem a bit to fast to me, all mine are either 4x or 8x and I have no problems with them (tdk) Look for some cd blanks that have slow supported speeds. |
Just been looking at your picture of the splitter you made in the below thread
http://www.xoutpost.com/electronics/...interface.html Im assuming the female connecter is the larger connector that houses the 3 male terminals. and there is two wires connected to each terminal in the female block? Are these all push fit connectors? or do the wires need soldering? |
also what thickness/guage wire did you use?
|
also, i will need a connector on the other end of my usb interface to plug onto one of the male connector blocks.....will i need 2 female connector blocks or is it a different plug that fits into the male connector?
