Sounds like your nav computer is or the laser could be faulty.... try copying the OS disc to a dvd, this may work.

well it got further than it did last time. however the screen went blank and i cant eject the dvd now.....just been back out to it and my screen is blue with telephone etc on it but no navigation.....still cant eject the cd and when im hooked up to navcoder trying to read the nav it says no response.

as long as this operation is quite sensitive to bad operations, is better to do it myself by remote desktop...we just need to synchronize our online hours...:), we can solve data filing in no time if you have a fair internet connection

this sound like a bricked MK4 (worst case scenario) or just freeze...disconnect the blue connector from the rear of the mk4 for about 1 min AFTER power led remains off, if MK4 is still alive, you should see the usual menu back after a few seconds, about the stuck cd, just push and hold the eject button until the disc is ejected as soon as the blue connector is plugged back on unit...should work...

hint: use good quality cd for OS disc as verbatim, tdk written to lowest speed as your burner/disc let you, also, use imgburn as write software, do not use nero

I downloaded and burned v29 succesfully with alcohol120% changed langauge settings with navcoder to UK USA D. When i turn cameras off by selecting USA it doesnt turn them off....however if i turn it off with D the camera alerts stay off but all my display is in german.....getting brain ache now....any suggestions?

that's strange...because the camera alert should go off (when select USA voice) because it should be no voice mods on US language...maybe you messed up the language mods...

i got it off the web....no idea how mods were done. Will try changing language to UK D USA see if it goes off when i select USA

Right.......changed my settings from UK/USA/D to UK/D/USA assuming that as when set UK/USA/D camera alerts went off when language 3 (D) was selected.....When i now select language 3 (USA) with new settings im still getting alerts, but if i select language 2 (D) with new settings camera alerts go off......really doing my head in now....all i want to be able to do is turn camera alerts off and keep my nav unit in english.....what is going wrong?
