Where did you order the laser from mate? has it arrived yet?

Hi,
I ordered it on ebay. Do a search on SF-HD4, and you most likely will get several hits. they cost around $15-25.
I bought mine from a seller called "vintage-hk" for $23 including free shipping to Norway.
The laser has arrived (took about 10 days), and it was in perfect condition (new).:thumbup:

Hey Stan 24v and holstad: Did you have success installing your lasers? It looks like the ones vintage-hk is selling is the "white cover" one and not the "black cover" one. I was wondering if it is reading DVD's or just CD's (or both!)

Tbh, I can't remember if it was a white or a black cover on it. I just took the part number from Didi's thread http://www.xoutpost.com/electronics/...-nav-unit.html

I haven't replaced the laser in my unit as I experienced some problems that seemed more like a internal flash memory problem rather than a laser problem.
My unit is currently on it's way to "Autotronic" for a re-flash, and I put the laser in the box also, just in case that ain't working.
Maybe Stan 24v can answer the question, or autotronic as he should get the unit tomorrow...

Thanks for the reply - I took the same part number Sanyo SF-HD4. I only came to find out about the black cover/white cover issue later.

Let me know how things work out for you. I'm hoping that the white cover version reads DVD's, not CD's. I just need it to work with the DVD map - not too concerned about CD system software upgrades...

fuzzy - I emailed the guy directly mate, and he knew which part I needed - the black one.

holstad - is that the guy in Australia? How much is it costing?
