one of the reasons for no longer selling are the emission problems in the US. But quite a nice ride, very smooth w12 .

well it's a bentley in Drag ain't it everything even down to the switches are exact same. I've got a mate who has one and it ain't to bad.

as to the VW badge thing well having just come from a V10 Touareg I can't get my head round this badge snob idea.

The only reason I bought a X5 is cause I have never owned one before

I would be hard pressed to say which is the best Brand of 4x4 VW, BMW, Merc and Range Rover I have never bought a car cause of it's badge.

At this price range it's all about the badge. Would you buy a $100,000+ W12 Phaeton when for a little more $$ you can have the S600 or the 760?

I'm sure the Phaeton is a great car but to me the styling is extremely bland with no soul or character. I can't imagine it's selling well in any parts of the world.

It may be snobbish, but that's the way we operate here on this side of the pond. Badge DOES matter -- a great deal, as a matter of fact. Here's proof of that: http://www.xoutpost.com/lounge/10367-...-fool-lol.html

It's the American way...

Huh? The 350z and G35 are close in price, with the Z being more expensive with certain options.

And from what I understand the Phaeton and A8 are probably about the same in price...
