My wife and I Tivo the show. Both of us love it. If you are into music and new talent, I think it is worth watching. I have seen much worse on TV these days. At least people with talent end up being in the top 10. Any of you actually seen Master P tryingto dance on the show Dancing with the Stars? Good lord, how does he keep winning every week? He looks like Herman the monster trying to dance.

After season one...pulled the plug....just like survivor....one season and out....reality tv due to editing and hype (everyone acts for the camera in hopes of fame) is far from reality.

never ever watched American Rival oop's Idol. it's only remotely good because of our Simon being on the show.

Depending on the "talent" it can be quite entertaining, better than some sitcom's on at the same time. I do agree that some of those people are on there just to try and get in front of a camera.

The auditions are the best part of Idol- rednecks come out for that show in droves, it's hilarious to watch their reactions when someone who's not a family member or friend hears them sing.

The Michael Jackson guy was a riot last night!

AI is the only TV show our family watches together (other than sporting events). The audition phase is entertaining as we like to see how far people will go to try for 5 seconds of fame.

At the final 12 stage, my daughter is a dedicated voter. In fact, she will have the handsets for our two phone lines in use during the allowed voting period.
