For those that don't set a warning, you may want a reminder that you are exceeding the speed rating of your tires. One of us has already posted a speed of 140, but what are his/her(pc) tires rated for? It's fine to flaunt some laws if you want(if you can't do the time,don't do the crime), but remember rule #1 "Nobody gets hurt".

BTW - I believe that the speed rating on tires is for sustained speeds. Hitting or exceeding those limits for a short period of time is not that dangerous - except, of course, for the fact that you're going over 130mph!!! Those of you who know for sure, please correct me if I'm wrong!

tires are the stock bridgestone turanza V rated upto 150mph. and yes no one gets hurt. doing 140 is not justified on a daily basis or in city limits but once in a while on the highway as long as five-0 dont see you and its being done properly is a choice

We are? Just because we don't set a warning doesn't mean we are exceeding the speed rating of our tires. I don't set a warning, and I definitely don't exceed the speed rating of my tires. Just like you said, don't do the crime...

Just a follow up - Those of us running snow tires, do you know what the speed rating is? my Blizzaks are 99mph. A speed very easily exceeded during hwy passing. As for sustained speed, it felt very uncomfortable at an inadvertant 105.
