You have an anti-mod policy,correct?Most of us here came to X5World to seek and share info on ways to mod their X5 as well as maintain it!

I know 18" comes as standard on the 4.4,I was just making a point that Bmw do think that 18" is better than 17" on the 4.4 ,otherwise they wouldnt have fitted them!

You should put an ad in the FS forum selling your 18" and exchanging for the 17"s.I am sure you will quickly find buyers!

I don't have an anti-mod policy. I do think that some mods like bigger rims have little benefit other than looks. Another qustionable mod is rebadging your 3.0 to look like a 4.6, when you growup you can buy the real thing. Mods like a better sound system or Ice system for a Ipod are of interest.

I didnt rebadge my 3.0 to make it look like a 4.6!I love the 4.6 kit and wheels,and since I am grown up ,I bought them!
With regards to buying the real thing,I do have them ,M3s and F355GTS.
When I was growing up(I was only 26) I also got a new 328GTB!That was the real thing as well.

I view my X5 and most daily drivers as wasting Assets.

I view the lease deal on my X5 4.4 as the best bang for the buck.

If you spend a lot of money making a 3.0 look like a 4.6 you probally would of been better off getting 4.6 or 4.8.

I will say that the oil burner probally gets more mpg but since your so old and have money to burn, why not get the real thing?

I still think its cheaper to buy a x5 4.8 if that is what you want. If your 3.0 was stolen or wrecked the insurance company would pay you for a 3,0. Based upon other posts on this site theift in the UK is a issue.

I also think that for driving around the NYC Metro area 20" rims give you too firm of a ride.

My 4.4 looks goods drives well and has lots of power. The 4.8 looks a little better and has more power but you are pay much more.
