No, you don't understand. I take ALL my shirts to the cleaners and have them starched. I have yet to find a cleaners that does it to my satisfaction, though, so I STILL iron them... So... yeah, anyway...

Yeah Juan! Having the shirts starched then ironed is the best thing.

They just don't starch them at most cleaners the way we're used to an "inspection" set of BDU's being starched, Juan.

Did you do that by the way? Leave a set of BDU's set aside for inspections/batallion formations/etc.? I wore Nomex most days, but we had to don the BDU's for inspections/change of command/etc. I always left a heavily starched set of BDU's in the closet for just such an occasion.

Well, I never did that because I kept ALL my BDUs in tip-top shape, and well-starched. But I know many people did do that.

Yeah, "civilian" cleaners really don't cut it. Oh, and the ironing they do is atrocious as well! That's why I re-do all my shirts. They simly do not meet my standards.

Juan

I specifically request no starch from the dry cleaners when i have my shirts done every week.... can't stand the sharp collars on my neck.

Very interesting. We have a cleaning lady.Twice a week. About $80.00 as well.I've been ironing since I was 10 years old. I get to blame my mother for that. When I was 16 I had about 35 shirts and it would take all day to do them all.But the Military did put a different twist on ironing. Navy whites where always done aboard ship. But when it comes to shirts the only thing that ever needs adjustment when they return from the laundry is the collar where the shirt buttons. The machines they use to press the shirts dosen't do that part right. But other than that I could do them but the Laundry does them well enough that I don't need to.

The following is a cut-and-paste portion of a Newsweek article on the Married Male Mind - and one of the best reasons to get a housekeeper if you don't already have one!

Does that mean men should give their wives a full housecleaning for Valentine's Day?
Yes! It wasn't till I did this book that I recognized that it's not just the doing of the housework that's a burden to women, it's the worrying about the housecleaning that is a burden. Finally I agreed to hire someone to help clean our house, and it had a direct effect on our sex life.

Juan,
Don't feel bad about that - its really sexy. I have not done laundry since I met my husband 4 years ago. He even washes my delicates and lay's them out to dry.
