BTW, thanks Chris. They were lovely and $48 well spent.
You're welcome sweetie

Tell me about it.

To avoid last year's 1-800-Flowers.com debacle, on January 30th, I went to a local florist and ordered one dozen long-stemmed red roses ($80) to be delivered today by 5:00 p.m. I placed the order well in advance, so I should be good to go.

When I didn't receive the anticipated "Thank you, you are wonderful" call, I was somewhat concerned. Could this be happening again? Nah. When my lady friend called me at 7:30 p.m., I asked her if she received anything at work today. Nope. Wonderful. That's great.

I immediately placed firm but fair a call to the florist, who informed me that they attempted delivery between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., but "the place was closed." Wrong. Try again. "Just a minute, please…"

After some haggling, the florist agreed to issue a full credit, and make delivery tomorrow with a note of apology. Fair enough. This year, once again, I heard "It's the thought that counts."

Know what? I like md TheOl'Guy's approach.

Guess I've got to call them tomorrow.

Ken sorry to hear your bad experience (again). That really sucks. Next V-day you might just have to hand deliver to your special lady.

Cut flowers suck, I don't understand why anyone would pay that much money for something that is going to die in a week. If my husband wants to buy me flowers, he buy's me a rose bush or something I can plant outside and enjoy for years.

FYI - the only reason that women who work in an office with other women want flowers on V-day is to show off, it is a competition. If you don't get them something they feel like you don't love them as much as there co-workers husbands/boyfriends. Working with about 30 women, yesterday was like a feeding frenzy. Everyone kept asking, what did your husband get you for V-day? Like, who cares and why is it any of there business? I just think V-day is for dating couples - If my husband spends $100 on flowers for me, its really like I spent $100, so how special is that?

actually i think its really for hallmark to make people think its for couples, i mean come on why get flowers on a day you know you will get them when you can get them on an off day and make that much more of a statement like hey i dont need a holiday to tell you i love you.... jeez maybe im too young to understand

$48 is cheap, if they are quality roses. $20 grocery store ones look like they are $20 beater roses.
