Yup, I agree, you get a Ferrari for the exclusivity and ego stroke. For me, I would be too worried about the car. I would be afraid to beat the shit out of it and run it balls out at the track and of course work on (adding mods and such) it myself. I think GM, overall, sucks ass, but the Corvette is the best sports car out there for the money bar none. The new Z06 is looking more exotic than the C5, so we are getting a lil closer in the aesthetics. It is always fun driving up next to an exotic, getting a lil race on and then stomping them

Bottom line, you are going to get more people checking you out in the Ferrari than the Vette.

...but I will beat you in every performance catergory you can throw at me for 2x less the cost.

I don't know about the bar none comment.. what about a Noble or even a street legal Radical SR3 or the Ariel Atom for half the cost of a Z06?

lol...ok good one. A couple go karts with some fiberglass bolted on and the $$$$ noble

ok Z06, best sports car while still retaining a warranty, a roof so I can drive in the rain (unlike that atom, lol), std air bags, room for a female to sit comfortably or lean over and blow ya, take on a 5000 mile trip, use cruise control, have NAV computer, 505 hp car with 26+mpg highway, can be fixed at hundreds of dealers around the globe, 20,000+ production, std, a/c, std anti-lock brakes, 6 way adj seats, heated seats......on and on ...

that noble m14 is still $130,000ish usd!

lol..anyway.... I really do not think those are other cars are really quite comparable.

there is really no other sports car as complete as the Vette to compare with on price and performance. Of course the "WOW! Look at that!!" still belongs to the Ferrari and Lambos.

Thanks for all the replies. I've driven a Testarossa and a 355 and loved them both. It really does beat hell out of a Vette to even sit in. Sorry Intel55.

Been to look at a couple of cars yesterday. Seen a lovely Lambo, but the interior does not have that Ferrari wow factor. The car that stole the day was the DB9 - i'd never really considered it before. What a great car. The price range has had to increase now and the DB9 is very similar money to an F430 which really would be awesome!!

The hunt continues...

Well let us not forget the viper, especially the current models.. i've driven ferraris as old as the dino and a few corvettes... the ferraris are awesome... the corvettes are easy to drive..they are like a car with training wheels... but wait till u drive a viper

The viper can be rough riding, loud, hot. It is definitely one for the few, a mystique. It is a dangerous car that u have to be on top of at all times. Even stock it does 0-60 less than 4s. An srt 10 is also very much an attention whore - even as much as the ferraris - corvettes are a dime a dozen.

If u offered me a 430 or an srt10 i would take the 430cos i could turn around and sell it for lots more... If u're want a driving thrill the viper easily matches

vette vs viper vid - http://www.car-vids.com/?x=84

dxbx5 i think u should order this http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/...ctionReq=Where

The Viper does look great - there was a silver one in a dealership just down the road. Didn't even think to find out about it. Might pop down on the weekend and take a look.

I think the same dealer may have a 430 and Gallardo in, so would be great to see them together.
