Any insurance reps/agents/in the biz in da lounge ?

Holy Fooking shit. Now, I have been advised that Brooklyn, NYC is the highest in the nation but I never really knew how MUCH of a spread it is. I just changed my address to the business address *which is in the city* and my rates were CUT down by almost 50% !

Hell, if I ever get into an accident, the adjuster will be paying me a visit at the bodyshop anyhows as I always prefer having the bodyshop negotiate the estimates !

I still get my mail in *da city*, so no harm no foul...............

Hello, there's enough New Yawkers driving around old Gotham City with Florida plates already....

YEAH...it is all about the risk pooling ya know...they use scattergrams to come up the probability estimates of the rate of avg loss per registered driver and charge accordingly.

The family business is an independent insurance agency, PM me if you want to get a quote... been in business for about 60 years. (I'm not involved, it's my uncle, cousin, and used to be my mother and grandfather as well)

Thanks for the offer Gresch. I may just reach out to ya ....At least a $1150 saved yearly. Why didn't I think about the office address when I first got the car.

you have to be very very careful.

When you sign up the for the policy, they should have asked you for the PRIMARY address where the car will be "garaged". If you have to file a claim, god forbid, and the adjuster realizes what you've done with the addresses, they can deny your claim and cancel your policy for fraud. It's becoming more frequent lately. You probably also were required to fill out a form stating whether you use the car for personal or business, if you put personal and it's now registered at your business they have another reason to dump you for fraud......

i'm not preaching here at all, i just don't want you to get screwed if something happens.

I hear ya. I have considered the risks......
X is coming up for renewal next month and insurance shopping was one of the things that was on my plate.

I was speaking with my insurance provider on the phone since another provider gave me a slightly lower premium and asked my current provider to see if they were willing to match or beat that rate. Anyhow, the gentleman I was speaking with was really cool *Queens resident himself* and I said humor me, punch in this zip and tell me what's the difference. I was shocked....

Gresch, feel free to PM with your fam. rep details and I will give them a ring next week .
