Rock 'n roll with Bon Jovi

Saturday was the wife's birthday so we had a bit of an adventure day. Amongst other things, we went and bought me new hockey skates and a new stick for her birthday. We then went to the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim to see Bon Jovi. We aren't exactly fans but my best friend is on tour with them so he hooked us up. We had excellent seats and also made our way down to the area beside the stage. We had a good view of things from there. We also saw Richie and Heather's daughter who is about 6 or so, hanging out coloring and playing. She is going to be a lovely woman because she looks just like Heather Locklear. Too bad Richie screwed things up or else I might have met Heather.

The concert was very good. The band sounded great and I was quite impressed that these old cats do this four times a week. They had an incredible video system with a massive screen that moved up and down and tilted. I was told that the whole she-bang-a-bang cost $8,000,000. The crowd was very diverse. There were people of all ages.

Here are some pictures.

Looks like a great concert Kev. Thanks for sharing the pics. BTW - what's with the 2nd to the last pic...why is there a screen ABOVE the stage?

Nice lookin' set up they have there, Kev. One of the nicest guys I've ever met in show bidness is Jon Bon Jovi. I've interviewed him and the band 5-6 times, never got to meet Heather either!

Gotta sport the Philadelphia Soul jersey... oh yeah!!!
I think Bon Jovi still rocks after all these years and definitely changed with the times. Not exactly my cup of tea, but good stuff and you'll still catch me listening to them.

Great shot of his ass by the way

So what kind of stick did you get? I still can't bring myself to drop $80+ on a Mission composite or $125+ on Bauer or Easton

He's frequently in the building where I work(Universal Musci Group's HQ is here), you can tell because a lot of the uhhhhh more mature women go running for the elevators to try to check him out.

That's right, that's how I do. She was great about it. She knows how much I love playing hockey and the Costco of hockey equipment stores we were at is about an hour and half away and near that Arrowhead Pond so it was a special trip there.

I'm sure she'll get me back and on my birthday we'll be sitting in the shoe department at Nordstrom's.

I'm glad you like the arse shot. I couldn't help it as I looked up and saw it shaking up there. I was too slow and missed him strut by and grab his junk. Oh well.

I bought a Bauer Vapor V. It was only $60. I tried it last night and it is great. I got a Naslund pattern blade and they make a wide range of flexes. I plan on ordering another one. I know what you mean about how expensive composite stickes are. There was a Reebok stick there for $220! I loved my Louisville TPS Response which was a pricey stick but it broke and I can't find the exact replacement. Check out Hockeygiant.com. They have a few stores including one on the East Coast. Their prices are pretty good. For example, I just got a pair of Bauer 6000 skates for $160. They often have some good prices on composite sticks.

That big screen looked really nice. It could go up, down, tilt, go behind the band, or up and horizontal. Slick setup. I would love to hook up an XBox.

Yeah, yeah, likely story Kev...I bet you had on that Village people sailor suit you told me about...

BTW - don't think you're getting away this easy. This is only the beginning.
