Talking Saw S550 vs. 750Li on the freeway!

On the way home after picking up the M3 from the dealer for scheduled service, on one of the OC freeways, we had a S550 in the #1 lane and 750Li on the #2 lane (both were brand new with no license plate). My wife recognized the new S-class right away. However, as both cars were driving side-by-side, the 7-series still looked a little taller and wider than the new S-Class.

The new S550 looks like a "mini-Maybach" but the 7-series still looks more larger.

I read an article from Motor Trend Feb 2006 which listed the size of the S-class vs. the competitors (Jaguar XJ8, Audi A8, and 750Li)....The S-class is the longest and slightly longer wheelbase than the 7-series, but the 7-series still has more headroom, legroom for both the front & rear and trunk room than the new S550, Jag, & Audi A8.

But that S550 does look nice.

Head out to the Pacific Life Open tennis tournament and see a bunch of S550's serving as shuttles. M-B is a main sponsor. I wonder what kind of deal you could get on a used one after the tournament.

The New S Class is nice looking. The front is especially nice.

Back in the days of Brian H., he did get me tickets to the Pac Life Open and I remember when I had my E-class, there was a special parking area for owners with Mercedes-Benzes. Now, if I show up, I'm sure they put all the BMWs in the back parking lots.

When you go into the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, you'll see all kinds of Mercedes-Benzes parked around the garden for display (like a mini-car show for MB).

Just curious, have you have tried Las Counselas for Mexican food, any good? There is one at every town (Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, & La Quinta). I already know LG's steakhouse is great and thanks to Tyson's wife, been to Cuistot, Wally's, Morton's, etc.

I saw B. Ho Sunday night at the rink. He's all buffed out so he's clearly repping some sort of steroid.

Las Casuelas is terrible. They only have good margaritas but the food is mediocre at best. Of all the steakhouses you listed, my fave is not amongst that list. Next time try Sullivan's.

Really, you like Sullivan's. Maybe it was a bad night, I also went there for a pharm meeting and I still like LG's the best. However, no matter what, the price was always right!

Anyhow, say HI to B.H.!!
