Sounds like there are some folks in the know here...

My past experience - paid $$ for bleaching trays from the dentist - IMO results did not last that long. Now I use Crest Whitestrips - works just fine for me. (Sometimes it makes your gums sensitive - not sure on long term effects - have been doing this for a couple years now).

Oh, I don't drink wine but I do drink my coffee thru a straw

Custom trays are the way to go. Senstivity happens if you leave the trays on overnight and that too will not last more than 12 hours.

I couldn't tell you how it cracks your teeth, but it does. Little hairline fractures have been formed through my teeth and I wouldn't recommend the gel.
