And it snowed tonight in San Francisco too, just a light dusting. Haven't seen that for a long long time here.

Weather forecast says the low will be 39 degrees in beautiful Los Angeles this evening with the snow level expected to be at 3500 ft. Plenty of snow for the ski resorts in the San Berdo mountains Saturday morning.

Pack up the X's - time to go to skiing (except for me - stuck at home with severe back spasms ).

Kewl, how are those Pirelli 19s doing in those conditions? Was there ever any situations where you had to use chains/cables with those Pirelli? I still have my summer Bridgestone 19s on and it scared the sh*t out of me on wednesday heading up to Big Bear (hit some black ice)...almost in the same condition as what's in your pictures. Needless to say, I quickly had to turned around and settled on Mountain High for some boarding fun

The Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico does really well in those conditions. Light snow & ice is no problem. When I used to have the Michelin Diamaris, even a light dusting of snow/ice would make the X5 useless....those types of tires (Bridgestone, Michey Diamaris, or any hi-performance summer tires) will not do well in the winter or cold....the colder temp causes the rubber on those type of tires to harden and lose more traction.

The Pirelli's area hi-perf all-season tires and the rubber on those tires does not harden. Haven't gotten into a situation that required chains/cables.

I am about 4000 feet above sea level.

Look at this in the San Francisco & the Bay Area! (I've only seen snow twice in CA outside Lake Tahoe!!)
