Thanks for making the point for me maxski...both the X5 and 5 series have years of reocuring parts failures and not a single improvement? How many times have you asked yourself why does BMW not reingineer a better part for this or that repeat failure? The better question is why would they? Why pay to reengineer, remanufacture and redistribute any replacment part that will leave them stuck with tens of thousands of useless stock in their inventories around the world?
After all BMW knows your willing to pay for the privelage or at least until they exhaust that inventory or you choose to upgrade to the next bimmer.
