Greetings from Lima, Peru!

Greetings, All!

Just wanted to say hello to everybody from Lima, Peru!
Haven't been on the boards for over a week now, and boy am I suffering!
I am here on a "Trade mission" with a group of various businessmen and women from Taiwan. We are making 4 stops, and this is the 3rd. We have been in Medellin, Colombia, and Bogota, Colombia so far. Just arrived Lima yesterday. Being it's my first time in South America, it's very interesting to see everything down here! First of all, I'd like to say it's not as bad down here as I have heard it is. Of course the hotel personnel all tell you to be careful of your personal belongings when walking out on the street, but otherwise it's been quite enjoyable. We spend about 4 days in each stop, 3 days doing a trade show and the 4th being a tour day. I'll post pics when I get back to NY. Our last stop is Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Ok enough rambling, just wanted to say hi, everybody!

As you can see from the "Show your country" flags I'm originally from Colombia, and right about now I am jealous I haven't been down there in over 15 years. By the way, how are the women looking

As far as Peru, my wife is originally from there, but I only had achance to visit once for about 10 days, and that was back in 1996. I hope you're having a good time, I know is probably no vacation with your Trade mission and all, but hey!!! You definitely have to try the "ceviche" before you leave Lima, I definitely recommend it

!!! Good luck on the rest of your business trip. Can't wait for you to get back and post some pics!!
P.S. - How about checking the local Bmw dealers for things we don't get in the U.S., (ie - Euro clear headlights, Individual equipment, Advanced rear entertainment system)!!!

Glad you're enjoying your visit. South America is beautiful. I have not been there since I left some 26 years ago, but I know it's not as bad as people make it out to be.

Greetings Paomien! It's always very nice to hear from one of our jet-setters! Hopefully you'll get a chance on your day off to absorb the Peruvian arts and culture. I've heard it's a wonderful country. Looking forward to seeing your pix. Have a safe and enjoyable trip.

A few more days and you'll be able to get to the job of mounting those style 132's!

I was in Lima last month. I go at least once each year on a medical mission trip, and love it! The people are warm and friendly. The women are gorgeous! The weather is nice, although Lima itself is oddly located in a coastal desert, so it is very dry.

Don't drink the water, no matter what anyone tells you! You will regret it. Bottled water is cheap, and worth buying!

From what I've heard, the women in Medellin are the most beautiful in South America? Can anyone contest that?

I just landed in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Damn it's hot here! The first thing I did when I got my internet connection was to check X5world ..

From what I see so far, the internet here is shotty, having to reload pages and all everytime...

Have the afternoon off, so might go out to see a few sights ...

Oh and yes in regards to the water; lucky for me the hotel provides free bottled water to their guests

I also heard never ever to drink the water; I don't drink fresh juice here unless there's no water mixed in, and I don't even take ice in my coca-cola....
