Unhappy RIP my X5

This weekend, decided to go visit some family up in the Tahoe/Reno area. Made it through I-80 through Truckee, CA even though it started to snow and it got down to 30F at Donner Pass and downright slippery.

However, last night, it started to snow in some parts of Reno (Mark G can verify this) and we were making a Blockbuster run when some idiot in a Ford pickup truck was flying down Mt. Rose highway and lost control and hit the left rear quarter are of the X5 thus causing me to spin to the other side of the highway and we ended getting t-boned by a Chevy Suburban. Needless to say, the X5 did protect us and the head/side airbags went off and we walked out in one piece. However, after it's 5 year anniversary this last month and 135,768 miles, I think our X5 did it last great thing and saved our lives.

RIP our beloved X5

OMG - that's terrible! But thank the Lord you're alive and well and here to talk about it. I hope the idiot pickup driver pays the price for his/her reckless driving.

I look forward to some great conversation about your next purchase.

Holy cow, doc!!! Now, please, please tell us this is not an April Fool's Day joke.

I am glad that no one got hurt. In the end, much as we love our car, it IS just that -- a car. The most important thing is that no one got hurt. The car can be replaced. So sorry to hear about your accident.

Juan

Sorry to hear about your baby. You walked away, that's all that matters. I'm with Juan, I read this before anyone replied. Wasn't too sure if it was another April fools.

I seem to recall that exactly one year ago today your X5 got stolen as well. It appears that 4/1 is not a lucky day for you, my friend
