open track videcam mount in 996 C4S question
my father and i are going to hit up Thunderhill Raceway up in NorCal on May 10 (anyone else here going?!) and i wanted to get a vidcam mount for inside his new porsche since we'll be taking turns pushing it to its limits ![]() i'm also probably taking my mustang again, and the vidcam mount i've got in that has been great (www.ioportracing.com) but i don't want to install anything in my dad's porsche that will in anyway alter/modify the interior trim. suction camera mounts are not allowed by NASA. any ideas what i could use? oh it's a 996 C4S. thanks

unless you got a harness bar or roll cage, there is no place to safely mount a camera. and NASA is correct in its stance against suction cup mounts.
You could fabricate up an alumium bar and place a camera mount on it and bolt that bar down to the child seat restraint bolts on the rear shelf area. Under the carpet is 2 hooks for child seats to latch onto. Just unbolt those and bolt your bar onto that. i plan on being at thunderhill dec 2-3 for the 25hr enduro race with NASA. we'll see how the sponsorship thing works out tho... |
