This country is based on free speech, yet just because I have a different view point I am interfering with your pursuit of modification?

I love my X5 and think that this group should welcome free speech and open discussion; however some of you think that is bizarre?

I am not against modification, I do think that you should consider the pros and con’s of what that modification results in, is that bizarre? I don’t think so!

Will you please extract your head from your rear end and stop complaining about your freedom from speech? The fact that you are posting here is an exercise of your freedom of speech. Yet you constantly complain about your right to be heard. The fact is you are being heard so stop whining.

Everyone who responds to you is also exercising their freedom of speech, and if the majority of the respondents are against you, then so be it. The right to be heard is an unalienable right, but so is the right to dissent. By you complaining about it, you are in turn actually assailing my freedom of speech and those of your dissenters.

Please don't hide behind defense of freedom of speech unless you fully comprehend its dynamics.

Most mods that we do to our X5's has been done already and all the pros and cons have been uncovered. With all of this experience, we have luxury of discussing whether the pros outweigh the cons. Most answers can also be found with the search function conveniently located at the top of every page.

If you truly think our conversation has been so terrible, you need to spend a year in Iraq fighting for this country to realize what a sense of seriousness is all about. To see you close this thread based on the conversation relayed here shows me you have no appreciation for freedom of speech and expression of opinon that I have sacrificed so much for. You are 29 years old, & I'm assuming haven't served for this country. If you would have, you wouldn't be so critical and overbearing when it comes to your position on this forum. Appreciate what so many of us have sacrificed instead of limiting our voice and info requests. Subdue your overbearing realm on this thread and let us discuss what we as responsible adults have chosen to communicate. Consider not deleting this initial thread and responding as the moderator to explain your justification in closing the thread that so many had participated in.

Nice going, X54.4blue. You just don't get it, do you?

Senior Master Sgt. Werner was protesting to the closure of a post relating the exhausts, yet you've elected to paste his response in its entirety here. The post that was closed was because of your remarks. I don't think Senior Master Sgt. Werner is your ally; he did refer to a tree-hugger in his earlier remarks. I believe that tree-hugger was you.

You don't get it

Just because he and I don't agree on the subject of pollution does not mean he does not welcome free speech and open debate. Because someone has a different view point does not mean its personnel. The problem here is that you think everyone needs to think the same way. Because I question the advantages of some mod’s you think I am bad and want to shut me up

No, X54.4blue, I don't think that you get it.

I personally think that many of the mods described on here are a waste. The difference between you and I is that I generally keep that to myself, while you keep harping on it. Face it, most people here want to modify their X5s. Fine. Doesn't bother me at all. I read past all the exhaust cross-over pipe posts for some truly interesting posts (IMO). And, I am sure that to others, those exhausting exhaust posts are just what they are looking for. Fine, there is room for all of us.

When you ask about the value of a modification, as you have done many times, you do it in a way that suggests you think people are wrong to have done that modification. Your questions are seen as attacks. Now, please try and find a new approach. It is getting very tiring.
