Question BMW Extended Warranty purchasers step inside

When you bought your extended warranty from BMW, did you get a policy, certificate, or some other documentation? My stealer insists that there is a notation "in the computer" that I have the extended warranty, but that no other documentation is provided to the customer. The only documentation I have is the $2500 charge that shows up on the sales order for my X3.

I've bought GM cars before where I purchased the extended warranty, and I always received documentation from them. I find the notion that I don't get anything similar from BMW somewhat dubious.

If you received some documentation, can you tell me what it says (or better yet scan and post or email the cover page) so I can tell the stealership just what it is that I should be getting? Thanks.

'Head...
I remember seeing your picks of your Fac. delivery;

Did you cop an Ext warr. already, on top of your brand
new 5 yr deal?

Pretty committed to a long hold, lol!
GL,md

Edit, P'Head...I went back and re-read your orig. ext warr.
question...hope you got the BMW deal, or Warr Direct and
not the "next door" Toyota one; not sure that would help
much in 2011 when you are 3 states away, potentially.
NEway, GL.

I got a little package of docs including a new Roadside Assistance card since that service comes with the BMW extended warranty. It all came by mail.

Yes, I did buy the BMW brand rather than the Toyota one.

And I do plan to hold it for awhile -- I'm going to drive it til my son goes to college, at which time it will become his to drive (and I'll get a new one!)

They will mail you your warranty booklet.....it will re-explain everything. No fears...if it doesn't come in about 3 weeks just call the dealer they'll reorder you one.

Latest update: Check out this respons I just received to an inquiry I made to BMW NA via the Owners Circle:

Quote:
Dear Mr. Tucker:

Thank you for your continued correspondence. At this time, our records do not reflect an extended warranty for your 2006 BMW X3 [VIN omitted]. Please contact your retailing BMW center to check on the status of your contract.

If you have any further questions, please respond to this e-mail or contact the Customer Relations and Services Department at 1-800-831-1117, Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M., Eastern Standard Time. Again, thank you for contacting BMW.

Sincerely,

Carrie Zartman

Representative

ParrotH':
Ah, it's just that crack staff at BMWNA HQ...
The weather has been very nice in Woodcliff Lake,NJ:
too much time spent on long lunch hour walks around
the campus, I suspect.

Go hammer the selling Stlr; I'm sure it will be fine.
