Horrible, but not surprising. I was mugged at knifepoint on a subway car in NYC in broad daylight, with a myriad of onlookers who did nothing while a knife was held at my throat. Although, one would think that when a child is involved, bystanders would become proactive. Go figure.

Most people suck, terrible but true. It wasn't anything like yours (glad you're OK) AR but I had a guy yank chains off my neck in lower Manhattan. I chased him, caught him, grabbed him by the throat and held him against a building. My friend went to the Pizzeria we went to every day for lunch and they wouldn't let her use the phone to call the cops.. No one wants to get involved. The good old "I don't know what you're talking about". F that. You do what's right. Do unto others.

I cant get the link either

Sorry for the hijack..You should have seen the look on this guys face. Of all the women in NYC he picked a screwball. I called him such profanities, I had truck drivers cheering me on. No one offered to help though. Afterwards, when the police came, I cried my eyes out. I didn't think. Just reflex action. He could have had a knife, a gun...

I, too went after him (despite the knife), didn't catch him, and dissolved into tears when the police arrived! At least we were brave enough to stand up for ourselves. I think it's safe to think that we (and our fellow X5/X3 world compadres) would have the same courage to stand up for others.....especially a child.
