Got my Slingbox today :-)

Slingbox allows you to watch your own TV programming anywhere you are as long as you have a decent internet connection. I wrote up a review here.

Cheers.

Very cool gadget - but I'm not into TV enough to make the investment. When I travel for work, I simply put the TV on in my hotel room and typically fall asleep before I even get to the program I'm interested in.

What's cool is I can watch my DVR or on-demand (I have Comcast). Something the Hotels never have unless you consider pr0n :-).

Got this as a gift. The slingbox is awesome. Last year while in NYC got back to hotel room to watch Yankee playoff game. The local cable was out in city, so plugged in Verizon broadband card in laptop and watched yankee game from home in LA while sitting in room in Times square. For all you perv's you can watch anything stored on your Tivo or connect to a DVD. Since it is a stream you're not bringing any data to your laptop and you can leave the new video ipod you loaded up with dirty movies at home and free up a hand. Remember porn drives technology:

Downloads for TV will be offered. Hollywood may be looking at its own digital future.

put that in combination with a Cingular UMTS card or Verizon EVDO card and you got instant mobile live TV solution. Those cards are more than fast enough and have a good enough algorithm to keep things flowing. Been using that for about 5 months now. It's handy since I travel a lot. Windows CE support is also coming in Q2. Check out www.slingcommunity.com

you will be disappointed. The current router technology is not anywhere fast enough for you to not have stare at the laptop screen.

I don't suppose the slingbox user and the tv watcher can watch different channels/access the dvr hd, simultaneously?
