Back on the Mtn, Long........

Hi Faves & Regs,
Back on the Mtn last night. Hello HillbillyHeaven!

Weird driving away from the FLA Starter Shack, all buttoned up...

Fun 12 hr., 775 mile run up I-75: we had not driven in or, seen rain for
3 months and natch we roll through buckets of it all the way north.

The X ran like a top, avg. 21 and change; DaFridge did ok too, with
the CEO driving "her" car. The cats, one car each, came through
alive & well, for being quite old, stressed and drugged. All our junque and plants and guns and stuff survived the trip.

We had hired a "housewatcher": our local mailman who watches 40+ houses around the mtns, most on his route. He "winterized" all our pipes, traps, etc., the day after we left last Dec., and we had emailed him alerting him to our return, not expecting anything: we stagger in last night in the 42 deg. F rain, and our water is turned on, the pipes/traps were blown and cleared of the RV anti-freeze, he and his wife dusted, and it was in good shape.

All we had to do is throw some breakers, adjust some incoming water lines, turn on propane, wake up the boiler "computer", fire it up, and
all systems were running. It took half an hr on phone to the WeDon'tCareDISH sat people to get our TV working, etc.

I remembered the combo to our safe, got the 'puter hooked up this am, (minus EMail which I have to import off the CD-R), the birds are back at the refilled feeders, the perennials and my Japanese maples are in bud, and stuff is freakin working!

Good to have been...good to be back, even though we are fogged in, it's
43 degs and I have sweatpants and sweatshirt on in lieu of shorts and a T shirt.

Thanks to L and the Gang, for reading.

Home is where the heart is...

Glad your spring migration went well MD. Not in the same league as arctic terns or monarch butterflies but then they don't haul "junque and plants and guns and stuff" either.

Hey, it's warmer where I am compared to where you are for a change.
