Watched "Flight 93" Yesterday...

I was taking a break from working outside, flipping through channels,
and it popped up on A&E of all places. Dunno how they got to run it
so soon after release...NEway, I hit the Sat. DVR button and "disked"
it.

Watched it last eve. Pretty well done and pretty weird watching the
tension build with the surrounding events, and espc. since we all lived
through that fateful day.

The timeline of the flick was a bit stretched as they had to "buy time"
to get all the personal interactions portrayed, as the plane flew at
450+ around Pennsylvannia.

But, very well done, believeable and realistic. Not gory, other than
emotionally, and not a lot of swearing, though A&E may have dubbed
some epithets. Worth a see...check your A&E sched. to see if they
repeat it.

I'm going to see it when I get a chance. I'm sure it's a great movie.

That said, I would take the "facts" in this movie rather lightly. 95% of what went on during that flight is unknown. The little that is known is known because of a few very short phone calls that passengers made -- certainly not enough to know much detail of what went on.

The heroic story of the passengers charging the cabin, while apparently true, appears to have had very little to do with the reason that the plane went down. All of the eye witnesses on the ground say they saw the plane get shot down, and the wreckage pattern on the ground was not one of plane crashing, but of a plane exploding while up in the air. The wreckage was spread over a 7 mile area, and one of the engines was found well over a mile from the main section of the plane -- perhaps a sign that it was hit with a heat-seeking missle while the plane was up in the air.

It's obviously hard to make a movie about this when there are no survivors. It makes most of it guesswork. I'm more curious to see Oliver Stone's movie that's coming out in the Summer. From what I've read, it is about a couple of people who survived from the WTC.

Actually, his movie appears to have nothing to do with the politics of the event, but is simply about the ordeal experienced by 2 Port Authority police officers who were trapped under the rubble of the WTC and were the last 2 survivors to be found by the rescue crews.

It sounds much more interesting to me than the Flight 93 movie. The Flight 93 movie is much more of a "conspiracy theory" type movie since it has very little factual basis and is mostly based on speculation.

And just to poke fun at your "other terrorist up on the grassy knoll" comment, I'm pretty sure having 19 terrorists classifies this as an offical "conspiracy". I don't think having a 20th one would make a difference. LOL

Eric, what kind of BS are you talking about a shoot down. You have got to be f'in kidding me. Sorry for the language used but the fact you said this as if the rest of us are ingnorant of the facts just kills me. I assume you also believe the Navy shot down the 747 over the Atlantic some years back. Conspiracies abound but one thing is for certain. They WERE NOT SHOT DOWN. The military just cant keep the secret (secret prisons, torture scandal, etc...) The liberal media would not cease until it was exposed. (That is except the fking Mirror, I mean come on!!!!)
