Although I didn't cheat and look at her web page, I have to admit, I was half joking. Now that you mention it, I do remember Michelle getting the trim rings... Regardless, I'll take the prize if, in fact, I guessed right!

I think "hindsight's" favorite word is "duh", isn't it?!...

Winner!

Okay you are over 50,000 miles and have no warranty, but you got them to replace your cluster board at no charge.

Yes!!

As soon as I got to the dealer this morning, my SA looked in to check the mileage and was like "whoa!" when he saw all of the dead pixels. He suggested I call BMWNA as soon as they open about the dead pixels because of a class action lawsuit going on right now. He said if I talk about how much I love the car, etc etc etc, they will cover the price of the part ($900.00+) even if the warranty is expired. He said they have done hundreds already. I called BMWNA at 9:00 and gave them my story. They dude on the phone said I'll hear from someone in 3-5 days. I called my SA back and he said, "I'll take care of it." Got a call from BMWNA about 10 minutes later saying they would replace it for me. So fast forward about 9 hours and I'm driving home from the dealership. I look at my gauges and this time I noticed something was missing...something MAJOR! I called my SA and told him that I want my rings back. I had to explain to him what they are and he said he'd go get them for me.

I'm going to negotiate for X5Jay - if you make that a body shot, he'll be there.

Michelle, exact same thing happened to me. My shop replaced my cluster on my 740il minus the rings. I couldn't get them out because it was such a snug fit and BMW needed the bad cluster back because there is a large core charge. So I just got some new rings, no big deal. Good luck.
