How about the widow of an equity trader...

At this point in time, there are much better causes where the money could go.
that is on Howard Stern every once and awhile...she has gotten 1.5 million for her husbands death who was an equity trader for the firm that lost nearly everyone...she has become a stripper...has a crackhead former cop boyfriend, has the totally hot trashy look going and you can see how beautiful she once really was...here is case where her world came apart at the seams and then she came apart under the load.

Money does not solve all problems.

Just a comparison for a moment. Again, I'm not trying to be cruel. Also, if you did not live in NY on 9/11/01, then I'm not sure how effective this little comparison will be for you as I'm not sure how the events of 9/11 made you feel. But if you did......

Remember how you felt in the days following the attacks? Aside from being angry, which we mostly all were, there was a feeling that this was sureal, and we could not believe that this kind of thing could happen in our own backyard. We witnessed several planes hijacked and used like missles to knock down a few large buildings and kill 3,000 people. The attack lasted for a couple of hours, and it was probably at least a few more hours until we knew for sure that it was over.

A little story here, but my sister worked less than 10 blocks from the trade center. About 6 weeks after the attack, my entire family went to the Yankees world series game -- it was the game where Bush threw out the first pitch. Prior to the game, we were eating dinner at a small deli a couple of blocks away from the stadium. We were running a little bit late, so after eating we began to walk the couple of blocks towards the stadium. Apparently the opening ceremonies had begun already at this point. When we reached the point of being about a block from the stadium, all of a sudden the ground began to shake, car alarms began to go off, and a loud noise came from overhead as 2 military jet fighters flew overhead (part of the ceremony welcoming President Bush). My sister, along with half of the people in the street, hit the ground and put their hands above their heads. Afterwards, she was noticeably shaken up and it took her about a half hour to calm down again.

Now I want you to imagine this....

Imagine instead of the assult on New York lasting a couple of hours, imagine that it lasted for weeks. Imagine that instead of 2 planes being used as missles, imagine actual cruise missles were falling on our city, or cities -- and not 2 of them, but hundreds of them. Imagine those same military jets that scared my sister were also dropping bombs throughout this time. And imagine that instead of 3,000 dead, the dead numbered in the tens of thousands.

Now just imagine how you would feel about those who were responsible, regardless of what they said their reasons for doing it were. Imagine how many people would have psychological problems from this ordeal. How many people would be able to go back to their normal lives in a reasonable amount of time, or ever? How long would it take for society to recover from this?

Just something to think about....
